Welcome to ResRef (“we,” “our,” or “us”), a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering researchers, revolutionizing research, and enabling groundbreaking discoveries.

By accessing or using our website, platform, services, applications, or related resources (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to comply with and be legally bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of entering into binding agreements under applicable law to use our Services. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Acceptance of Terms

Your access to or use of the Services constitutes your acknowledgment and acceptance of these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies referenced herein.

Subject to compliance with these Terms, ResRef grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services solely for lawful, personal, academic, or organizational purposes related to research and collaboration.

Users may upload, submit, publish, or share content including research materials, comments, files, publications, or other information (“User Content”).

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content through the Services, you grant ResRef a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, share, and make available such content solely for operating, improving, and promoting the Services and organizational mission.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to your User Content.
  • Your User Content does not violate applicable laws or third-party rights.
  • Your User Content does not contain malicious code, unlawful material, or harmful content.

ResRef reserves the right to remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or applicable laws.

6. Service Availability and Interruptions

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

ResRef does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of the Services. We may suspend, modify, discontinue, or restrict access to any part of the Services at any time without prior notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResRef disclaims responsibility for:

  • Data loss or corruption.
  • Delays, inaccuracies, or system failures.

Users are solely responsible for maintaining backups of their data and research materials.

ResRef does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for third-party content, privacy practices, availability, or services. Your interactions with third-party services are solely between you and the applicable third party.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ResRef disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Merchantability,
  • Fitness for a particular purpose,
  • Non-infringement,
  • Accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Services.

Research information provided through the Services is for informational and collaborative purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional, legal, medical, or scientific certification.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResRef and its officers, employees, volunteers, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Services.

In all cases, ResRef’s total aggregate liability shall not exceed the total amount actually paid by you, if any, for accessing or using the Services during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we believe a user has violated these Terms or applicable laws.

Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms immediately cease.

ResRef reserves the right to update, modify, or replace these Terms at any time.

Updated versions will become effective upon publication on the website unless otherwise stated. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
